THE OPPORTUNITY
The Technology Instructor Assistant Intern will be responsible for assisting the lead instructor in teaching technical skills to students enrolled in our technology programs. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable, motivated, and enthusiastic individual who has experience working with students and has a passion for technology and continuous learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Technology Instructor Assistant Intern, your job duties will be but not limited to:
  • Assist the lead instructor(s) in teaching technical concepts, languages, and tools to students (ex. Java, JavaScript, Scrum/Agile, Github, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the lead instructors(s) and Senior Director of Technology, Innovation, and Training in developing and updating curriculum materials, assignments, and assessments
  • Provide individual and group support to students during classroom sessions and office hours (ex. Performance Coaching, Pair Coding, Project Oversight, etc.)
  • Monitor and provide feedback on student progress and performance
  • Collaborate with other instructional staff to ensure the delivery of quality instruction
  • Facilitate classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment (evening and weekend hours required during school year)
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of equipment, supplies, and materials
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field
  • Participate as a junior developer on client products and tools, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or Obtained Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field between Fall 2022-Spring 2023
  • Strong understanding of programming languages, web development frameworks, databases, and software development tools
  • Experience working with youth learners in a technology education setting
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively with instructional staff and students
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
  • Experience with mentorship or coaching
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, engagement, and inclusion with a demonstrated ability to create inclusive work environments, and work effectively within a culturally diverse environment.
  • Self-directed with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks/competing deadlines simultaneously.

  • Professional proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Able and willing to adjust work schedule, if needed, to support clients, customers, and project needs
  • Must be able to work in-office with participants based on training schedule needs
  • Must be available during core business hours and throughout the project duration
  • Must be willing to travel within the state of Delaware for in-person meetings as needed
  • Must be committed to continued personal growth, career development, and advancement
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with online education platforms and instructional design
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies
